Statistical Procedures Reviews
"Emily is so patient when explaining lecture material. She is very thorough with her work and is always open to answering questions or explaining concepts further. She is very detailed and does her best to help us succeed. She is the reason why I got through this class!"
"Overall, I'm really happy that Emily was my TA for this difficult class. She is well-informed, and experienced in teaching and also tells fun jokes about stats and keeps us engaged. She is incredibly helpful in how she makes sure that we know the material well, and also expects us to be doing our best and holds us accountable for reiterating the information that we learn back to her. She did a great job!"
"This course was incredibly difficult, but this TA made it manageable and even enjoyable. I found myself laughing and very engaged during discussion sections, and every question asked by the students was given great attention and very clear helpful responses. By far one of the best TA experiences I have ever had at UCR."
Research Procedures Reviews
"Emily was such a nice, patient, and helpful TA. I was very thankful that in discussion class, we worked on practice worksheets/assignments together rather than being put in groups and struggle to figure it out ourselves. I appreciate how she always lets us know that she is here for us if we want to talk to someone about something or just need help with anything. Lastly, she is definitely very kind and helpful during office hours; she does her best in trying to make sure the students (or myself) understand what we need to fix or add on to our assignments and research proposal. In addition, my main goal is to do well on my research proposal and just the entire class, but I appreciate Emily's efforts in going over our research proposal and adding as much comments as she can to make our research proposal advance/better."
"Emily Esposito is a wonderful teacher and aide to the course, they provide an open environment for students to ask questions as needed and broke down questions students had in order to make sure others understood it as well. (Many students including myself sought out their next discussion section as well in order to receive the same quality assistance for the continuing psychology course.)"
"I don't even know where to begin, Emily has been a PHENOMENAL TA for me this quarter! She's managed to take such a complicated and overwhelming process that is drafting a research proposal and break it down into really really manageable portions. Every discussion, she was incredibly well prepared and energetic despite it being 8am on a Thursday. Her instructions were very detailed and easy to follow yet to the point so that she didn't waste any class time! She's got such a pleasant and approachable personality and really tries to connect with her students on a personal level. She offers really really supportive and constructive feedback and allowed me to feel super confident in myself as a student. One of the greatest TAs I've had so far and I would easily take a class if it meant she would be my TA again."
Social Psychology Reviews
"Emily is with out a doubt the best TA I have because she really makes an effort to connect with all the students. She is the most relatable TA that I've ever had and makes speaking up in class and engaging in discussion extremely natural and easy. She is very accommodating to all possible situations and you can tell she genuinely cares about all students and their performance in the class. I would not miss the chance to go to her discussions because she is very great at engaging the entire class. She is incredibly funny and you can tell she has a bright future ahead of her. If this is how great she was and how easy it was for her to engage the class during this quarter over zoom, I can not imagine what a fun learning experience it would be if this took place in person."
"Emily is such a GREAT TA! She is approachable, and really clarifies the lecture material when her students ask. She wants us to succeed so she provides an open space for discussion (in addition to reviewing material and articles). I've never felt more comfortable and confident in an upper division course because of her teaching skills. I appreciate her hard work and efforts to be an awesome TA. We need more TAs like you, Emily!!"
Graduate Quantitative Methods Reviews
"Emily has a genuine way of connecting with students. I am normally a student who doesn't ask many questions during class, but I felt comfortable asking her how to run basic R codes (as this was my first time using R), such that she never made me feel bad for asking. I appreciated how she moved around the room so that people can have private time to ask questions - it felt very inclusive. I really appreciated how committed she was sharing everything she knows about R with us. I hope I have her as a TA another time during grad school."
"Emily was a great TA. She was always available, encouraging, helpful, and fair. She made the lab section a fun learning environment. I cannot speak highly enough about her teaching style, her commitment to teaching, and her passion for helping us learn."
